Judge rules Walton Academy must shut after safety issues breach FL state and US safety laws

A US judge has ordered the immediate closure of Tampa's Walton Academy for the Performing Arts after repeated safety violations, including unsecured gates and faulty emergency systems, breached FL and US laws. Despite a board vote to revoke its charter, the school remained open. The Hillsborough district argued ongoing risks, while the school claimed fixes were made. Over 110 students are affected, with an appeal hearing set for early November, as reported by the MSN.
