Manufacturing activity at 5-month low in September, but stays strong

Manufacturing activity in India remained strong in September, with new orders supporting growth. The S&P Global India Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) recorded a reading of 57.5, the lowest in five months but still indicating expansion. Despite a slower pace, the data showed a sharp rate of growth. Domestic demand has been robust, helping the manufacturing sector recover amid a global slowdown.
